Welcome to another reboot of my writing space. I've had many in my 40 years of writing-for-hire. Staying on top of the ever-changing media landscape requires it.
I write on an eclectic list of subjects that critical thinkers will enjoy. Cultural observations, the aging psyche, living intentionally, self-reliance, and more. You’ll find me on four platforms: this blog, Medium, Mastodon, and Bluesky.
All four platforms are free. And each is devoid of advertising, fake news, sensationalism, and clickbait. My words are my own -- never AI. Occasionally, I may use an AI-generated illustration, rather than my own photography, but it is always noted.
My Background
I've been a writer-for-hire for decades. In addition to working with over 250 client companies, I created the Curious Elder newsletter on the Substack platform during the COVID-19 shutdown and the blog Cycling Nirvana a few years before that in this same space.
I’m a road cyclist, Nordic walker, DIYer, humanist, husband, father, grandfather, and caregiver, and I support small businesses. My interests include culture, science, photography, technology, gardening, and aging, among other things.
